Women of Spoon River; Their Voices from the Hill is Lee Meriwether’s one woman show which she adapted from the women’s monologues from Edgar Lee Master’s Spoon River Anthology. Each of the female characters discusses how they found themselves buried in the Spoon River cemetery on the hill. They tell the stories of their lives and deaths; some of the women died a happy content death, some in child birth, and some while imprisoned.
